Well & Rested

A burnout recovery program for Black women in demanding professions and roles

Every Black woman deserves to live her version of a well-rested life.

A life where rest, joy, and freedom are treasured and exhaustion, burnout and overwhelm are no longer the center of her life.

For many Black women, it is especially challenging and isolating to bring softness into her life. We are pressured to do it all, never make mistakes and be the superhero who must always be strong for everyone.

The Strength in Softness program is designed to warmly invite the Strong Black Superwoman into the ease of a well-rested life.

Here’s what past group members have to say about The Strength in Softness:

  • "I love that Michelle has done the research for us and the presentation is wonderful. Pitched at just the right level. I wish more women had access to this."

    — Annik, Director of Research & Evaluation

  • "I appreciate the community, how organized it is and how knowledgeable and relatable Michelle is. She knows her stuff and it shows."

    — Dr. Monea, Racial Justice Speaker & Yoga Teacher

  • "I would recommend this program to women who struggle to find balance in their lives with the conflicting demands of motherhood, work, family, and community responsibilities in the face of racial and political turmoil."

    — Shan, Human Resouces Director

This program was designed to give space to the Black woman who is beyond burnt out from her overwhelming, busy life of being “strong”.

This program is centered on creating a safe and wellness-centered community for Black women to finally exhale, receive the support she’s been looking for and focus in on what she wants in her well-rested lifestyle.

This is your time to change the narrative.

You are invited to discover what you need to decenter being the strongest one all the time.

“I have really been exploring the topic of ease in my life. Questioning notions of how I allow and receive more ease into my life.

When I saw this program offering, work was also particularly stressful. This program felt right on time.”

I am committed to creating safer spaces for Black women to get the rest we deserve.

My name is Michelle and I believe that you are so much more than your strength.

I am honored to be taking the ideas shared in my book, I Own My Magic, and dedicating a space just for you to breathe, dream and freely pour into who you are as a human being.

— Annik, Director of Research & Evaluation

“I wish Oprah or someone would learn about this and fund retreats around the country. Or set up a whole training course like Brene Brown's Dare to Lead. It has all the elements. It's very high quality.”

This program is a curated safe space designed for adults (18+) who identify as women, womxn and female-identified people from Black, African Diaspora communities.

This space will not tolerate any prejudice, discrimination or hate speech towards members of these communities.
