The Strength in Softness

A burnout recovery program for Black women in demanding professions and roles

Every Black woman deserves to live her version of a softer life.

A life where rest, joy, and freedom are treasured and exhaustion, burnout and overwhelm are no longer the center of her life.

For many Black women, it is especially challenging and isolating to bring softness into her life. We are pressured to do it all, never make mistakes and be the superhero who must always be strong for everyone.

The Strength in Softness program is designed to warmly invite the Strong Black Superwoman into the ease of a softer life.

The spring cohort will begin on 3/4/2024 and meet weekly for 8 weeks.

The Strength in Softness self-care program is a gentle space to land for Black women who always feel pressured to be strong.

The Strong Black Superwoman narrative can take up so much space in our world.

Almost as if it is the only identity available to us . . .

What if you were presented with a softer way to live out your Black womanhood?

What if you had the opportunity to be soft within a community of Black women? What if ease, slowing down and self-care were natural parts of your everyday life?

This program was designed to give space to the Black woman who is beyond burnt out from her overwhelming, busy life of being “strong”.

This program is centered on creating a safe and wellness-centered community for Black women to finally exhale, receive the support she’s been looking for and focus in on what she wants in her softer lifestyle.

This is your time to change the narrative.

You are invited to discover what you need to decenter being the strongest one all the time.

Who is this program created for?

This program was created for the adult Black woman/womxn who is:

  • A professional, who is burnt out and overextended

  • The strong friend, who carries everyone else’s burdens with a smile

  • The eldest sibling, who is pressured to do it all and do it well

  • A parent and caregiver, who is supportive of everyone else’s needs before her own

  • Ready to start her burnout recovery journey in an intentional way

What you can expect from this 8-week program:

  • 8 self-discovery sessions with ideas, activities and breakdowns of Strong Black Superwomanhood

  • Weekly reminders, affirmations & journaling prompts to support your journey towards a softer life

Our identities as Black women do not have to be defined by our strength. Here is your opportunity to self-discover who you are outside of being everyone’s superhero.
